School Security
Security is a high priority at Chalfont St. Giles Infant School and Nursery. We have a number of security systems in place to make sure the children are as safe as possible. These systems are regularly reviewed. Some of the systems are listed below.
- All visitors to school must report to Reception or the Nursery entrance and introduce themselves. Office or Nursery staff will then allow them to gain entry to the main buildings if appropriate. All visitors have to sign in on arrival, wear a badge and sign out on departure.
- All entrances to the school buildings are secured.
- All staff and volunteers are fully CRB checked and a central record is maintained by the school.
- Entry can be gained to the hall, cottage and main buildings with a keypad using a code.
- Pupils are well supervised at all times.
- When taking pupils to the Shakman Field, staff are required to take our Intercom device/mobile phone in case of an emergency.
- The main door into the nursery is locked before, during and after each Nursery session. All visitors to Nursery have to sign in on arrival and out on departure.
- Our internet connections are highly secure and filtered for inappropriate materials.
- We have an Internet code of practice for staff and children.
- All our visits are fully risk assessed. The school uses EVOLVE the Buckinghamshire Education Authority online system to authorise all visits.
- The school has an effective Fire evacuation system and an Emergency plan.
If you have any questions about security please contact the school.
