Educational Visits

Tower Of LondonWhile at our school the children enjoy a good number of well-planned educational visits. We ensure that there are a range of experiences over the years which enthuse and inspire the children in their work.

In Foundation 1 the children visit our Forest School and during the summer term they visit Langleybury Farm.

In the Foundation 2 the children visit Forest School and Whipsnade Zoo.

In Year 1 the children visit Kew Gardens and the National Gallery.

In Year 2 the children visit the Tower of London and Mop End (a local outdoor education facility).

All visits are risk-assessed and each teacher has visited the site beforehand so that they have first hand knowledge.

As these visits take place within school hours, then under the terms of the 2002 Education Reform Act no charge can be made by the school for the visit. The school therefore invites a voluntary contribution from parents to cover the cost. There is no obligation upon any parent to contribute in this way; it is entirely voluntary. All children are able to take part in the visit regardless of whether parent(s) have been able to make a contribution. However, if we do not receive a sufficient sum in voluntary contributions the visits have to be cancelled since we could not cover the cost from the school funds.
