Dear Parents/friends/Guardians                       18th November 2005

Scholastic Book Fair

A reminder that we are holding a Scholastic Book Fair at the school from next Wednesday through to the following Monday (23rd November to 28th November inclusive).  Books will be on display in the School Hall for you to buy from 2.45pm to 3.45pm each day.  The PTA will be holding a coffee morning on Thursday 24th November, from 9.30am to 11am offering you a chance to browse the books and enjoy a drink and a chat.  All things PTA-related will also be on sale.  Our thanks to the PTA for manning the Book Fair for us.

Operation Christmas Child

Thank you to everyone who handed in shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.  Although today was the deadline for delivery to the school, we will accept shoeboxes on Monday 21st November at the very latest.

Admission to Reception and Year 3 2006/2007

Today was the deadline for receipt of admissions forms for Reception and Junior School applications.

Please note that a child attending our Nursery is not automatically entitled to a place at the school and the Infant School has no control or influence over the admissions process.  You must complete and return the form to Bucks County Council by their deadline for your child to be considered for admission to this Infant School.

Christmas Productions

Preparations will soon be underway for “A Scarecrow’s Christmas” and “The Nutcracker”, our Christmas Shows. Each child will receive a letter requesting some items of clothing that they will need for the show.

You should all have received a letter and application form for tickets for the Christmas productions.  Please make sure you return the form to the school office to book your tickets.

Wet Days

We would like to remind everyone of the procedure on mornings when it is raining:

If it is raining, parents may bring their child(ren) into class from 8.45am but should remain with them until the bell goes at 8.55am and leave promptly as soon as the teacher arrives.  Lunchboxes should be put on the relevant class trolley which will be put in the Memorial Hall kitchen. Thank you for your co-operation.

Junior School Christmas Fair

Friday 9th December, 5pm - 8.30pm at the Junior school in Parsonage Road. Refreshments, including Burgers and festive Pittas, will be served so bring the kids for their tea, have a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.  Santa's grotto, gifts and lots of games.

Walk to School Week

Well done to all the 87 children and their parents who took part in Walk to School Week before half term.  Certificates and pencils were distributed during the week.  There was one form returned without a name on – if your child did not get their certificate and award please let me or the office know.

School Lane

You may remember that last term a consultation document was sent to all parents about a plan for creating a footway along the whole of School Lane.  Those of you who responded so positively to the idea will be pleased to learn that the funding for the scheme has been agreed by Bucks County Council.  They have handed over the implementation to a highways engineering contractor who will be carrying out a formal consultation where required to determine the exact details before carrying out the work.  I’ll update you when I hear more.
