Chalfont St Giles Infant School & Nursery
Newsletter – 16th December 2005

 Newsletters:

Dear Parents/friends/Guardians                       16th December 2005

This will be the last newsletter of the term. It has been a long and busy term and I am sure all the children are ready for a relaxing break over the Christmas period. Just a reminder that school will finish at 2.00pm on the last day of term – Tuesday 20th December. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the teaching and non-teaching staff for all the hard work they put in, educating and caring for your children. It is much appreciated!

Have a happy Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year!

Last Day of Term for Nursery today

A reminder that today is the last day of term for Nursery children.  We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Nursery on Thursday 5th January (except those who move up to Pearl class on 4th January).

Infant School

As noted above, school finishes at 2pm next Tuesday.  We look forward to seeing you all again on Wednesday 4th January.

Staff Changes

We say goodbye to Mrs Carol Brown this term, who has been working with two children as SSA support. Mrs Brown is moving on to be secretary at the Junior School, so I would like to thank her for her support and hard work, and wish her every success in her new job.

Key Stage 1 Christmas Production

Well done to all the children for the excellent performances of ‘A Scarecrow’s Christmas’ last week! They worked really hard and sang, acted, danced and played instruments brilliantly! Thank you to all the staff, who have worked really hard to ensure everything went smoothly!  Thank you also to the PTA for all their hard work.

Foundation Stage Christmas Production

Well done also to all the children in Sapphire Class and the Nursery for putting on a super performance of ‘The Nutcracker”! Thank you to all the Nursery staff, parents and helpers who gave up their time.

Candlelight Parade

Thank you to everyone who participated in the candlelight parade on Saturday 3rd December. It was lovely to see the children with their lanterns and hear them singing carols on the village green.

Lost Property

Our Lost Property box near the Disabled Toilet has got very full.  If you think you have lost any items of clothing (we seem to have acquired adult and baby clothes as well as school uniform!) please take a moment to check the box.  We will be disposing of the contents at the end of term.  Please make sure all your child’s clothes are labelled clearly.  Thank you.

Poppy Appeal

Thank you to everyone who bought poppies in November.  The total raised for the Chalfont St Giles district was £6,485, an increase over last year of £135.
