Dear Parents/friends/Guardians 14th
October 2005 We are pleased that our
relationship with you as parents is one of co-operation and
understanding. However, we are
occasionally finding that staff are not always being
treated with the respect they deserve as professionals working with your
children. We are proud of our Open
Door Policy and are happy to welcome you into the school to discuss issues of
concern. However, we would be grateful
if you would recognise that this is a place of work and as such, we expect to
be treated with common courtesy. Thank you for your
understanding. Trolleys We
have tried a new system with the lunch trolleys in the morning but have found
that it causes potential road safety problems with children running back and
forth unsupervised across the road to the Memorial Hall. We
will therefore be returning to the old system of leaving the trolleys in the
playground for depositing lunchboxes as of next Monday 17th
October. In order to make the process less time consuming for the LSAs, we would appreciate 2 volunteers from each class to
take the trolleys over to the Memorial Hall once the children are out of the
playground. If you would like to help, please see your class teacher. Harvest Festival Thank
you to all the children for their generous donations of food and money
yesterday. We all thoroughly enjoyed the service which offered us the chance
to celebrate harvest but also to think of others at this time. Admission to Reception
2006/2007 Parents
of children reaching the age of 5 between 1st September 2006 and
31st August 2007 need to complete and return an admissions form to
Bucks County Council by 18th November 2005. Booklets and forms are available from the
office. Please note that a
child attending our Nursery is not automatically entitled to a place at the
school and the Infant School has no control or influence over the admissions
process. You must complete and return
the form to Permission form for
photographs Please
remember to return a completed form for permission to use images of the
children at the school, if you have not already done so. This form was
attached to the last Newsletter. Midsummer Nights Dream
workshop Unfortunately,
the workshop was cancelled because one of the actors had injured his knee and
was incapacitated. We will either
arrange this workshop for a later date, or book an alternative production. If
you have not yet returned your workshop payment slip, please do so as soon as
possible. Mid-day Supervisor Vacancy A
reminder that we have a vacancy for a mid-day supervisor after
half-term. The hours are 12 noon to
1.30pm Monday to Friday but this could be a job share. If you are interested, please talk to Mrs
Whittington. Photographs Next
Tuesday 18th October, the photographer will be coming to the
school to take individual photos of the children. If you have more than one child at the
Infant School and Nursery, the photographer will automatically take a joint
photo as well as individual photos. If
you do not want this, please let the office know on Monday 17th
October, otherwise we will assume you want both (no obligation to buy). Thank
you. Bonescan
Appeal Day Next
Thursday 20th October we are supporting the Bone Scanner Appeal. Children are invited to come to school
wearing black and/or white clothes for a donation which will be given to Half-Term We
would like to wish all the children a very enjoyable and restful
half-term. We finish next Thursday 20th
October (Friday is a Training Day for staff).
We look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday 1st
November. After School Club As
some of you might be aware, the After School club has been closed down. The
good news is that an excellent new one will be starting after half-term!
Information regarding the new club (The J.K. Club) will be sent out when we
have a definite date. Safety at the end of the
day The
Y2 teachers are finding it increasingly hard to ensure the safety of their
class at the end of the day, as children are being collected without the
teachers knowledge. In order to rectify this, the Y2 children will be
escorted to the wet weather shelter by their teachers and dismissed from
there. Please could we ask that parents do not take their children until they
are safely in the wet weather shelter. If it rains we would ask that parents vacate
the wet weather shelter just before 3.15. This procedure will start from next
Monday (17th October). Lift Share If
you are interested in a lift share on an occasional basis from Little
Chalfont, please contact Mr Tennyson-Davies on 01494 763312. Dates for your Diary (amendments/additions
