Dear Parents/Friends/Guardians                   11th February 2005

It is half-term next week and I hope the children all enjoy a relaxing and well-deserved break. We look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 21st February.

Sainsbury Active Kids Campaign 2005

The School has registered for the Sainsbury Active Kids campaign.  From 2nd March until 30th June 2005, every £10 a customer spends at Sainsbury’s will earn one Active Kids voucher.  These vouchers can then be donated to the school and we can redeem them for equipment, kit and experiences which encourage the children to enjoy being active.  For every £5 spent on fresh fruit and vegetables, Sainsbury’s will give customers an extra voucher.  If you shop at Sainsbury’s, we would be very grateful if you would donate your vouchers to the school.

School Trips

School trips have now been organised: please see Dates for Your Diary below.  Letters will be sent to parents in due course.

NO PARKING in the Memorial Hall Car Park

Once again, we ask that you do not park in the Memorial Hall car park at any time.  The car park is for the use of staff and hall users only.  You will also be aware that driving near to the playground is strongly discouraged for safety reasons – the school crocodile of children walking to school recently expressed concern about parents reversing their cars “dangerously near to the children”. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dates for new Academic Year

Next year’s term dates are as follows:

Monday 5th September to Tuesday 20th December inclusive

Half-term close afternoon of Friday 21st October, return Tuesday 1st November

Wednesday 4th January to Friday 31st March inclusive

Half-term close afternoon of Friday 10th February, return Monday 20th February

Tuesday 18th April to Friday 21st July inclusive

Half-term close afternoon of Friday 26th May, return Monday 5th June

Please note there will be two further Training days in the year, yet to be decided.

Cottage

For safety reasons we would ask you not to allow your children to use the path at the back of the cottage but to use the main path around the front.  Thank you.

Walk to School Week

We will be having our annual ‘walk to school week’ during the week beginning 7th March 2005. We hope as many people as possible will join in and walk to school!
