Dear Parents/friends/Guardians 2nd December
2005 Scholastic Book Fair Thank
you to the PTA for manning the book fair. We raised £890.22 from the
purchases you made and this has enabled us to buy £489.00 of books from the
commission. Thank you for your support. Christmas service at The
children will be singing carols at Chalfont St Giles parish church on
Thursday 15th December at 9.15am. You are all welcome to attend.
Please could you leave the first eight rows on either side of the central
aisle for the children to use. Thank you. Candlelight Parade As in previous years, Y1 and Y2 children have been
invited to participate in the candlelight parade on Saturday 3rd December.
They will be meeting at the school at 5.30pm and will walk down to the
Village Green where there will be carol singing and the Christmas lights will
be turned on. Father Christmas will be joining us on the green and there will
also be refreshments available. Parents need to accompany their children. Children’s Christmas Cards From
1st December, there will be two post boxes for the children to use
to deliver their cards to friends. One will be in the main entrance area of
the Infant School and the other in Nursery.
These are emptied each day and taken round the classes. Please ensure
the child’s full name and class
are on the envelope as we have quite a few children with the same first name
in school and they could be delivered to the wrong person. Christmas Productions We look forward
to welcoming you at our Christmas productions next week. The children have all been working hard and
are looking forward to performing for you.
Thank you for your help in providing costumes. The PTA will be on hand at each production
to help you find your seat and to provide refreshments after the
performances. Last year, they were
disappointed to experience an unacceptable level of rudeness from a minority
of parents. We would ask, therefore,
that you remain patient if you have to wait to be shown to your seat (we
suggest you come early) and you remember that younger siblings are not
invited to the Years 1 and 2 performances.
We appreciate the work the PTA does at these events and hope you do
too. Christmas Party Day The
children will be having their Christmas Party on Friday 16th December.
They will be watching a film and having a children’s entertainer. The party
is in the afternoon, so please send your child in with a light lunch as the
children will be eating party food later.
Please liaise with your class parent regarding food, as each child
needs to bring in something to share (eg, crisps,
biscuits, cakes, sausages etc). The children can wear party clothes on this
day! Christmas Trees Thank
you to Rowans who donated two Christmas trees to the school. One is in the Nursery and the other in the
school hall. We appreciate their
generosity. Don’t forget you can order
your Christmas trees from Rowans for delivery (orders in PTA box please). Yoga Bugs The lunchtime
yoga club will again be available for children starting on Monday 9th
January at a cost of £50 for ten weeks.
If you would like your child(ren) to participate, please obtain details from the
office. Scannapeal Thank you to
everyone who supported our Scannapeal day in
October. We have been informed that we
raised £185.40! This will go towards
the £100,000 Bone Scanner Appeal at Dates for your Diary (amendments/additions
