Our Annual Survey - Overall Summary

The questionnaire was completed by 97 parents/carers and 53 year 2 pupils, in addition to the staff and governors. The data was collected between 29th January and 8th March 2007.

The responses have once again enabled us to evaluate our school from the perspective of the various stakeholder groups.
We have also been able to compare for the first time the responses year on year, which was one of the advantages of using this online system.

We have also shown the detailed responses from the parents/carers and pupils.

Most Effective Characteristics

  • The organisation of learning and teaching.
  • The management of behaviour and discipline.
  • The organisation of pupil care and involvement.
  • The organisation of parental involvement and responsibility (Governors & Parents/Carers).
  • The organisation of staff training and development.

Areas of greatest improvement since 2006

  • The headteacher and deputy heads lead the school/college well.
  • I know what the school/college is trying to achieve.
  • Parents/carers take on responsible roles in the school/college.
  • Pupils know what their targets are.
  • The staff try new methods to help pupils learn better.
  • School/college events and activities are well organised and managed.

Areas for action:

  • Progress is checked and new goals are set for pupils.
  • Homework is set regularly and supports learning.
  • Pupils take part in school/college clubs and activities out of lessons.
  • The communication of vision and goals.

As a result of this feedback the school is able to create an action plan. Work on all of these action points was the focus for 2006/2007. This year 2007/2008 the school has created a strategic plan which uses the vision as central pillar for all development across the school.
